Inconsistent designs were undermining the experience

Verizon’s Digital Secure app protects users from malware, unsafe websites, and identity theft, but its designs were inconsistent. Key visual elements and data visualizations needed updates, and guidelines had to align with the latest Verizon design standards to ensure a seamless, scalable experience.

Aligning every detail with Verizon’s updated design standards

We focused on the screens and elements with the greatest impact. By updating these key screens and establishing them as templates, we ensured the new guidelines could be applied consistently across the remaining screens.

Icon alignment and status clarity

We replaced outdated McAfee icons with assets aligned to Verizon’s design system and introduced color-coded status indicators, making it making it faster for users to recognize the state of each service.

Consistent, on-brand illustrations

We replaced inconsistent McAfee artwork with Verizon-aligned illustrations. The updated library uses a unified style to represent breach types, success states, and features with clarity and consistency.

Streamlined security scans

We standardized triggers, animations, and layouts to improve consistency and align with brand standards.

Delivering impact across the Digital Secure experience

We partnered across brand, product, and accessibility teams to ensure every screen, icon, and illustration in Digital Secure reflected the latest design system.

Our updates to Digital Secure went beyond a simple refresh. We created a foundation for future work, elevating visual consistency, and improving the user experience across hundreds of screens.

  • Updated 900+ screens in full alignment with guidelines

  • Produced 50 refined illustrations

  • Delivered 25 detailed key screens to guide design and development
